Privacy and personal data processing policy of the UDA’s Educational platform
Property rights
All public information contained on the website uda-training.org.ua (hereinafter – the platforms) is the intellectual property of the NGO “Ukrainian Deminers Association” or our partners. Any copying and use of information materials from these platforms for profit is illegal and punishable by the laws of Ukraine.
Privacy policy
The privacy of users of our platforms is very important to us, and we make every effort to ensure that it is protected. In accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”, by marking this Privacy and Personal Data Processing Policy (hereinafter referred to as the Privacy Policy), you consent to the processing of your personal data in order to ensure the implementation of civil legal relations, when using platforms services.
These rules explain how we use your personal information.
- In accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”, by marking this Privacy Policy, you consent to the processing of your personal data in order to ensure the implementation of civil legal relations, when using platforms services.
- Personal data is information or a set of information about a person who is identified or can be specifically identified.
- To use the platforms, you must carefully familiarize yourself with your rights and obligations regarding the processing of personal data, which are specified in Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Personal Data”, carefully familiarize yourself with this Privacy Policy, and express your full agreement with their conditions.
Collection of personal data
We may collect information about you through the following means:
- during registration on the platforms,
- when visiting our platforms,
- when using the services of our platforms.
The following types of personal data can be collected, stored and used:
- Information about your computer, including your IP address, geographic location, browser type and version, and operating system;
- Information about your visits to and use of these platforms, including referral sources, length of visits, pages viewed and navigation paths across the platforms;
- Information about your email address that was provided to register on our platforms;
- Information you entered when creating an account on the platforms – for example, your name, profile picture, gender, date of birth, marital status, education and place of employment;
- Information, such as your name and email, that was provided when subscribed to our mailings and/or newsletters;
- Information generated when using our platforms, including information about the time, frequency and conditions of its use;
- Information that you have posted on the platforms for the purpose of publishing it on the Internet, including your username, profile picture and the content of your post;
- Information contained in any messages you send to us by email or through our platforms, including message content and metadata;
- Any other personal information you have provided to us.
Before you disclose to us the personal information of a third party, you must obtain the consent of that person both for the disclosure and for the processing of this information in accordance with these rules.
Use of your personal information
The personal information you provide to us through our platforms will be used for the purposes specified in these rules or on the relevant pages of the platforms.
We may use your personal information for the following purposes:
- administration of platforms and activities of the organization;
- personalization of platforms for you;
- providing you with the opportunity to use the services available on our platforms;
- sending you messages and reminders;
- sending you e-mails that you have specifically requested;
- sending you e-mails, if you have ordered them (you can tell us at any time that you no longer wish to receive e-mails from us);
- sending you marketing messages about our business activities or the business activities of carefully selected third-party companies that we believe may be of interest to you, by posting or, if you have specifically consented to this, by sending e-mail or using similar technologies (you can inform us at any time that you no longer wish to receive marketing messages);
- providing third-party companies / organizations, including foreign and international ones, with statistical information about our users (however, these third parties won’t be able to identify any individual user from this data);
- processing your requests, questions and complaints related to our platforms;
- to ensure platform security and fraud prevention;
- checking compliance with the terms and rules governing the use of these platforms;
- and for other purposes in order to improve the operation of our platforms.
Disclosure of personal information
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information to any of our employees, managers, partners, policyholders, professional advisors, agents, suppliers or contractors, to the extent and for the purposes set forth in these policies.
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information:
- in those cases where the law requires us to do so;
- in connection with any current or future legal proceedings;
- to establish, exercise or protect our legal rights (including providing information to other parties to prevent fraud);
- and to any person who, in our reasonable opinion, may apply to a court or other authorized body for the disclosure of that personal data and, in our reasonable opinion, that court or authorized body will issue an order for the disclosure of that personal data.
We will not disclose your personal information to third parties, except for the cases specified in these policy.
Storage of personal information
This policy and procedures are intended to ensure that we comply with our legal obligations to retain and delete personal information.
Personal information that we process for specific purposes must not be stored for longer than is necessary to achieve that purpose or those purposes.
Protection of your personal information
We will take adequate technical and organizational measures to prevent the loss, unlawful use or falsification of your personal information.
We will store all personal information provided by you on our secure (both password and firewall) servers.
You acknowledge that the transmission of information over the Internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the World Wide Web.
You are solely responsible for keeping your password to access our platforms confidential. We will never ask for your password, except when you try to log into your account on the platforms.
Changes and amendments
We reserve the right to unilaterally make changes and amendments to this policy from time to time, and publish new versions of them on these platforms. You are responsible for periodically checking this page to ensure that you understand the changes made to these rules. The Privacy Policy, as amended, shall be effective from the moment of its publication. We may also inform you about changes to these rules by sending a message to your email address.
Your rights
You can send a request to receive any personal information we have about you to info@uda.org.ua
We reserve the right to refuse to provide information at your request, within the limits of current legislation.
You have the right to instruct us not to process your personal information for marketing purposes.
Third Party Websites
Our platforms contain hyperlinks to websites of third-party companies and individuals. We do not have tools to manage them and are not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of third parties and companies in this field.
Updating information
Please notify us promptly if your personal information we hold needs to be updated or corrected.
Cookies files
These platforms use cookies. A cookie is a file containing an identifier (a string of letters and numbers) that is sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. Subsequently, the identifier is sent back to the server each time the browser requests a web page from the server. Cookies can be either “permanent” or “session”: permanent will be stored by the browser and will be valid until the expiration date, unless deleted by the user in advance; “session” ones, on the contrary, will be deleted after the end of the session with the platforms or after closing the browser. Cookies usually do not contain any information that identifies the user. However, your personal information that we have may be linked to information stored and obtained from cookies.
Deleting personal information
To delete your account and personal information from our platforms, you should click the button labeled “Delete my account” in your account. As deletion in our system is final and cannot be reversed, we may request confirmation of your authority to manage this account via email.
After requesting the deletion of your account, we will permanently:
- deactivate your account;
- delete the active profile;
- remove you from user lists on our platforms.
Regarding your personal information: We permanently remove your personal account information from our platforms.
Once the personal information in your account profile is deleted, the remaining information about your activity on our platforms will no longer be associated with you, except as noted below.
Exceptions:
- deletion will not apply to action history archives unless/until they are “out of date” in our system;
- we will archive courses data (in the manner and to the extent permitted by applicable law) for the purpose of research in the field of cognitive science and education;
- we will retain and use personal information as necessary to fulfill our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
